With Worry-Free Purchase, customers can purchase low-cost package protection that protects their orders against theft, damage, and loss during shipment. 

If you've enabled Worry-Free Purchase, CommentSold will automatically add order protection at checkout. Here's how it works based on customer preferences:

First Checkout After Enabling Worry-Free Purchase:

  • If the customer opts in for protection, it will be automatically applied to future orders during checkout.
  • If the customer opts out of protection, it will be automatically turned off for future orders during checkout.

Customers can still choose to apply or remove this protection before completing their purchase, making future transactions smoother and more convenient.

Remove Worry-Free Purchase During Checkout


Package protection will automatically be added to a customer’s cart and the fee will appear as a line item in the order summary, alongside shipping and taxes.

Shoppers can easily remove Worry-Free Purchase from their cart by selecting the trash can icon on the right side of the Worry-Free Purchase section. 

Note: Local pickup and digital goods like gift cards don't qualify for Worry-Free Purchase. If an order contains both qualifying and non-qualifying items, Worry-Free Purchase will only cover the qualifying ones.

Note: Sometimes, when a shopper places a preauth order for a high-demand product, the Worry-Free Purchase is automatically applied because the shop runs out of inventory during regular checkout. 

Shopper receives an email with an opt-out option for the Worry-Free Purchase. By selecting the link in the email, the shopper can opt out before the payment is processed and the order is finalized.

Worry-Free Purchase Confirmation


Shoppers will receive an email from CommentSold and Seel with Guaranteed Delivery details. This email will also link them to the Seel Resouce Center if they need to open a claim.

Cancel Worry-Free Purchase Protection


Shoppers can cancel Worry-Free Purchase protection within 24 hours of their purchase. In their confirmation email, customers will see a Don’t need Worry-Free Purchase? callout at the top. They can select the link in this section to proceed with their cancellation.

Once they cancel their protection, they’ll receive an automatic refund of the protection and sales tax for the protection. Refund processing times will vary based on the method of payment. Customers will also receive a confirmation email for the cancellation from Seel. 

Orders with canceled protection will display a Cancelled Worry-Free Purchase badge on the order in CommentSold.

Troubleshooting Errors

Here are some common errors and their resolutions:

Issue: Customer is not seeing Worry Free Purchase or Make It Returnable (final sale) protection options in cart.

Ensure the customer has added shipping address. Rates will not appear until a shipping address is entered.

To be eligible for Make it Returnable, the order must contain a product that is marked as Final Sale in CommentSold.

To be eligible for Worry Free Purchase, the order must not contain items that are: Perishables, Pharmaceutical drugs, Precious stones and metals, gift cards, or digital items.

Worry Free purchase is not available for Pre-Auth purchases at this time.
