-
What is included in a dropship fee?
- Dropship fees collected by CommentSold include product cost and shipping.
-
When are fees collected for dropship orders?
- If a customer pays for an order using Stripe (e.g., a credit card or CS Payments) or Klarna, then CommentSold collects fees at the time of order and passes the remaining amount to you.
- If a customer pays for an order using a non-Stripe method (e.g., Sezzle, TikTok, or PayPal), then CommentSold charges your CS Payments account for the dropship fees 8 days later.
- Note: The usual commission and processing fees still apply to dropship orders.
-
Where can I view the charges for a specific dropship order?
- At this time, orders paid for using a non-Stripe payment (e.g., Sezzle, PayPal, TikTok, etc.). However, you can still view the fees collected for these orders in your CS Payments Payout page. Head to Setup > CommentSold Payments > Payouts > View Details for the specific day. The amount labeled “Transfers” is the bulk dropship fees amount (product cost + shipping) for all non-Stripe orders placed 8 days prior.
-
I’m looking at the details of a CS Payments payout and see a line called “Transfers.” What is a transfer?
- Typically the “Transfer” amount is the bulk charge for dropship fees for orders paid with a non-Stripe/CS payment method (e.g., Sezzle, PayPal, etc.) placed 8 days prior. For example, if the payout detail you’re looking at is from July 11th, then you’re viewing fees for non-Stripe orders placed July 8th.
- Transfers can also include the 1% fee for an instant payout. Instant payout fees appear in the “Transfer” amount for the next non-instant payout.
- Last, Transfers can also include the difference for a product paid in both account credit and credit card (e.g., Stripe/CS Payments and Klarna). For example, if a product sells for $50 and the customer has $45 in account credit, they pay the remaining $5. CommentSold holds the $5 as part of the fee but because the product cost is $20, CS will charge the shop the remaining $15 balance. This amount would appear in the bulk “Transfers” amount.
-
How do I get more information about an order that might be included in the “Transfer” amount?

-
Why am I paying fees when I haven’t sold dropship products in the last few days?
- CommentSold processes fees for non-Stripe orders (e.g., Sezzle, PayPal, etc.) on an 8-day delay. This is done for two reasons:
- We cannot control how quickly your other partners and payment processors deposit your earnings. Therefore, to avoid stress on your bank account, we delay collecting fees to allow time for you to receive earnings from your partners and payment processors.
- We wish to reduce the amount of refunds you need to process. For example, if a dropship order is cancelled because the product is out of stock, you can seamlessly refund the customer without waiting to be refunded the cost of the product and shipping by our team.
- CommentSold processes fees for non-Stripe orders (e.g., Sezzle, PayPal, etc.) on an 8-day delay. This is done for two reasons:
-
Why did my bank account get charged?
- CommentSold deducts dropship fees for non-Stripe (CS Payments) orders such as Sezzle or PayPal, or via TikTok. Fees are deducted 8 days after a dropship order is placed. CommentSold will only charge your CS Payments bank account if your CS Payments balance is lower than the fees amount.
- We recommend ensuring that the bank account connected to CS Payments is the same bank account that you receive payments from your other payment processors and partners to ensure you’re receiving the revenue and paying for the costs from the same place.
-
Why am I charged fees for TikTok orders before I even receive a payout from them?
- Some shops have experienced inconsistent payouts with TikTok. Unfortunately, we cannot control how long TikTok takes to pay a shop for orders placed through the platform. We collect fees for these orders 8 days after they’re placed to give TikTok (and your other partners and payment processors) as much time as possible for to issue a payout to your store.
-
What is a negative payout?
- A negative payout occurs when the fees and costs associated with your orders exceed the revenue that is being deposited into your CommentSold (CS) Pay balance. This can happen when a significant portion of your sales are paid through non-CS Pay methods, such as PayPal, Sezzle, or TikTok, while the fees and costs for those orders are still deducted from your CS Pay balance.
-
What happens if I have a negative payout balance?
- If you have a negative payout balance, then CommentSold will charge the bank account connected to your CS Payments account to collect this balance.
-
Why does my payout appear negative even though I have sales?
- If you have sales where the payment was processed outside of CS Pay, the revenue from those sales is deposited directly by the respective payment provider (like PayPal or TikTok) and not into your CS Pay balance. However, your dropship costs associated with those sales—such as the product costs and the shipping fees—are still deducted from your CS Pay balance. This can result in a negative balance, as the fees are deducted but no corresponding revenue is added to the CS Pay balance.
- What should I do if I frequently see negative payouts?
- If you notice frequent negative payouts, it may be helpful to review the payment methods used by your customers and how they align with your CS Pay balance. Understanding which sales are processed outside of CS Pay and how those costs are being deducted can provide better insights. You can also reach out to CommentSold support for a detailed breakdown of your payouts and guidance on how to manage them.
-
Are items more expensive through CommentSold Dropship compared to ordering directly from Ave Shops or Trendsi?
- No, the prices for items from our platform partners, Ave Shops and Trendsi, are exactly the same on CommentSold Dropship if you order directly from them. We ensure that the same products and prices are maintained across both platforms so you can shop confidently, knowing there is no price difference.
