With FlexLabels, you can buy the cheapest labels possible for all your orders. No more over (or under) purchasing shipping labels, then having to refund them.

Before you can fulfill using Flexlabels, you will need to enter package information for the various boxes, poly mailers, and other package types you use to ship orders.

In order to purchase labels using Flexlabels, you will need to enable the following settings:

  • Auto-Buy Credit. You can enable this setting on your Prepay Labels settings page. Look for the Auto Purchase Prepaid Credit toggle.
  • Auto-Combine Labels. You can enable this setting on your Shipping Cost settings page. Look for the Combine Orders toggle.
  • Bulk Print Packing Slips. You can enable this setting on your Shipping Cost settings page. Look for the Bulk Print Packing Slips toggle.

Step 1: Enable Flexlabels

  1. Select Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select Shipping from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Select Package Preferences from the submenu.
  4. Locate the Flexlabels option and select the toggle on the right side of the page.

When you enable Flexlabels, you’ll see the below pop-up. To use Flexlables, you need to enable the settings listed on the pop-up. We mentioned those settings above.

If you do not have these settings enabled, CommentSold will automatically do so when you select Activate Flexible Labels in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up.

Step 2: Assign Flexlabels Permission to Your Team Members

You will need to assign Flexlabels permission to each team member who will fulfill orders using Flexlabels.

Note: Any user with All Permissions assigned will automatically have access to Flexlabels once you have enabled it.

  1. Select Team in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard
  2. Locate the team member to whom you wish to assign Flexlabels permission, then select the three-dot icon to the far right of the row.
  3. Select Edit User from the drop-down list.
  4. Select the checkbox to the left of Purchase Flexlabels.
  5. Select Update User at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Add Your Go-To Package Dimensions

With Flexlabels, you’ll set up your package dimensions ahead of time. Your fulfillment team will then scan a packaging barcode when generating the label rather than entering package dimensions when fulfilling each order.

We discuss this process in detail in our Fulfill Orders Using Flexlables article.

Once you’ve entered all the package types your fulfillment teams use for orders, you’ll want to print the package barcodes. We recommend keeping them in a binder or affixed to a surface at each fulfillment station.
