Here are some common questions and resolutions.
Barcode label printing blank?
Check the product’s inventory. If the variant has no quantity, the barcode will print blank.
Barcodes not scanning after changes?
If you’ve recently added variants or changed the product SKU, reprint the barcode labels. Old labels won’t scan because the data is no longer accurate.
Barcodes not scanning, no recent changes?
Check your label size. We recommend 3x1 labels. Smaller labels can cause scanning issues because barcode scanners read the spaces between lines, not the lines themselves. Printing too small makes those spaces unreadable.
Confirm your scanner is set to scan in lowercase. If you click into a text document or search field and scan the barcode, it should populate a lowercase i and then a number (like this: i-839). If the i is not lowercase, reset your scanner to scan in lowercase. See Scanner Settings above.
If you click into a text document or search field and scan the barcode, it should populate a lowercase i and then a number (like this: i-839). If no text appears, the barcode is not being read by the scanner. This usually means the barcode is printed too small (less than 3 x 1) or the scanner itself may not be in keyboard emulation mode.

Make sure your mouse is near the “Add Product” button when scanning. Click near the Add Product button (but not on it) to make sure you don’t have the cursor somewhere else, like the real time comment box.
Scanner Showing Capital “I” Instead of Lowercase “i”
If your barcode scanner is returning a capital “I” instead of a lowercase “i” when scanning, it can cause errors and prevent the barcode from being recognized correctly.
To resolve this issue, scan the barcode below to update your scanner settings and enable lowercase output. This will ensure the scanner reads and returns the correct lowercase “i” when scanning barcodes.
