Need to block a shopper or customer? Read on to learn how.

An unfortunate reality of operating your business at scale is that you'll inevitably have problematic customers. Whether these customers are combative, distracting, chronic inventory hoarders, or in violation of your business guidelines, CommentSold makes it easy to block or remove these customers so they can no longer shop with you.

When you block a customer, they are unable to:

  • Add items to their cart
  • Complete the checkout process
  • Join live sales on your mobile app
Is the customer creating problems on Facebook? You'll need to block the customer on Facebook directly. Blocking a customer on CommentSold doesn't prevent them from leaving Facebook comments. Make sure your Facebook Page Moderation and Profanity Filter settings are set to prevent unwanted language from being posted in the comments.

Block a Shopper

  1. Select Customers in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Locate the customer you wish to block and select the three-dot icon to the right of their name.
  3. Select Block Customer from the drop-down.
  4. On the pop-up, select Confirm to confirm your action.

Once you block a customer, a crossed-out icon will appear over their profile picture on your Customers page. You'll also see a Yes in the Customer's table column Blocked?

Alternative to Blocking a Customer

If you do not wish to fully block a shopper from shopping with you, then CommentSold offers you the ability to ignore a shopper's SOLD comments.

With Ignore SOLD Comments, customers can still purchase from your mobile app and webstore, but would not be able to claim items via comments. This is useful if do not have First Paid First Served enabled and have a customer who frequently claims products via posts and live sales but does not complete the checkout process.

  1. Select Customers in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Locate the customer you wish to ignore and select the three-dot icon to the right of their name.
  3. Select Ignore Sold Comments from the drop-down.
  4. On the pop-up, select Confirm to confirm your action.
