Learn what CS Fraud Protection covers, which payment disputes are excluded, how non-fraudulent disputes are handled, and how dispute fees work.
CS Fraud Protection covers qualifying fraudulent disputes for transactions made through CS Payments. When a customer disputes a qualifying fraudulent purchase, such as an unauthorized purchase, CommentSold handles the dispute claim and associated qualifying fees, disputed revenue amounts, required responses, and related action items.
CS Fraud Protection does not cover non-fraudulent disputes such as credit not processed, duplicate charge, product not received, or product unacceptable. Lost packages and unfulfilled orders are also not covered under standard CS Fraud Protection.

How Can I View and Manage Disputes?
The Disputes section in the CS admin panel provides information about chargebacks and lets you manage dispute responses, review payout transactions, and export dispute data.
Disputes Tab: Displays the Fee Amount, Total, and Chargeback Reversal Date. The information shows the relationship between the chargeback amount, chargeback fee, and total collected.
Payout Details: Displays Dispute and Dispute Reversal transaction types in both detailed and summary views.
Filters and Export: Lets you filter disputes by transaction type and date and export the results as a CSV file.
Non-Fraudulent Disputes
How Are Non-Fraudulent Disputes Handled?
For disputes that are not marked as fraudulent, the shop must provide evidence through the CS admin panel. Standard CS Fraud Protection does not cover these disputes.
What Happens When a Non-Fraudulent Dispute Is Submitted?
When a dispute is submitted, Stripe deducts the chargeback amount plus a $15 dispute fee from the shop's CS Payments account.
What Happens If I Win a Dispute?
If the shop wins the dispute, the chargeback amount and the $15 dispute fee are refunded to the CS Payments account.
What Happens If I Lose a Dispute?
If the customer wins the dispute, the shop does not receive a refund for the chargeback amount or the $15 dispute fee.
Stripe processes the financial transactions and applies the dispute fees for CS Payments.
Important: After you submit dispute evidence, you cannot revise it.
Closing Disputes
What Happens When I Close a Dispute?
Closing a dispute indicates that you do not have evidence to submit and are accepting the dispute as lost. The dispute status changes from Needs Response to Lost.
Can I Reopen a Closed Dispute?
No. Closing a dispute is irreversible. After you close a dispute, you cannot reopen it or submit additional evidence.
Before closing a dispute, review all available evidence and make sure you do not need to submit a response.
