This article walks you through how to connect your Pinterest account with CommentSold to sync your product catalog and promote your products on Pinterest.

Before You Connect
Before you can connect your Pinterest account to CommentSold, you'll need to ensure that you've completed the following steps:
- Convert your Pinterest account to a business account.
Step 1: Connect Your Pinterest Account With CommentSold
- Select Social Setup from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Select Pinterest from the options available at the top of the page.
- Select Connect Pinterest Account.
- Authorize the app.
Step 2: Claim Your Website on Pinterest
Important
To use the Pinterest integration with CommentSold, you must have your CommentSold webstore enabled. When claiming your website on Pinterest, you can only claim your CommentSold webstore URL, claiming your Shopify site is not supported for this integration.
- Select the drop-down next to your profile on your Pinterest account.
- Select Settings.
- Select Link to Pinterest from the side menu.
- Select Claim next to Websites.
- Choose how you want to claim.
- Under the Add HTML tag option, click to copy the HTML tag.
- Select Continue.
Step 3: Add Website Claim Meta Tag in CommentSold
- Go back to your CommentSold account.
- Paste the copied HTML tag under Meta Tag Content field.
- Select Save Meta Tag.
Step 4: Verify Your Website URL
- Go back to your Pinterest account.
- Enter your Website URL.
- Select Verify.
- Once verified, select Done.
Step 5: Add a Data Source
- Select the drop-down next to your profile on your Pinterest account.
- Select Settings.
- Select Import Content from the side menu.
- Select Catalogs under Products.
- Select Data sources from the side menu.
- Select Get Started under Provide a URL link.
- Go back to your CommentSold account.
- Copy the Data Feed URL.
- Go back to your Pinterest account.
- Enter the following details:
- Enter a Name for your Data source.
- Paste the Catalog URL.
- Select the File format as CSV.
- If you wish to test the data source, select Test your Data source or select Upload.
- Once the validation is complete, select Continue.
Step 6: Select a Catalog in CommentSold
- Select Social Setup from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Select Pinterest from the options available at the top of the page.
- Select your desired catalog from the Select a Catalog drop-down.
- Select Save Catalog Collection.
- Enable the toggle for the Collection Product Groups you wish to sync to Pinterest.
Expected Behaviours
- Customers will be instantly redirected to the specific product page on the CommentSold-hosted Shop website to complete the purchase.
- Shops do not need a custom domain for this integration.
- Products must be published to the webstore to sync.
