Configure Shop Details and Preferences

Learn how to configure your CommentSold shop details, selling preferences, shopper account settings, and shopping cart options.

Configure your CommentSold shop settings from Setup > Shop in your CommentSold dashboard. You can update your shop details, selling preferences, shopper account settings, and shopping cart behavior, including webstore visibility, checkout options, cart expiration, and waitlist settings.

Locate Your Shop Tab


  1. Select Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select Shop from the options listed at the top of the page. 

Edit Your Shop Details


The My Shop section lets you configure basic shop information, including your shop name, URL, timezone, description, business address, and checkout notification banner.

Select the Enable/Disable toggle where necessary or select Edit to the right of items to make changes, where available.

  • Shop Name: Enter the name of your business as you want it displayed to shoppers.

  • Shop URL: The URL shoppers use to register for an account with your shop and access their account page after registration.

  • Webstore is Disabled: Select Enable Webstore to publish your webstore homepage. Your webstore URL directs shoppers to your storefront.

    • Webstore Visible on Homepage: Enable this setting to display your webstore at your shop's URL.
  • Shop Timezone: Select your shop's timezone. This setting affects sales scheduling and other time-sensitive features.

  • Shop Description: Enter a short description of your shop. This description is visible to shoppers.

  • Your Business Address: Enter your shop's business address. All fields are required.

    • To display your shop's name as the sender on shipping labels, enter the name in both From Name and Company Name.
  • Checkout Notification Banner: Enter a message to display on the shopper's account page. Use this banner to communicate shipping delays or other information shoppers should know before checkout.

Configure Your Selling Preferences


The Selling Preferences section lets you configure settings that affect how shoppers interact with your shop across your mobile app, webstore, social channels, and live sales.

Select the Enable/Disable toggle where necessary or select Edit to the right of items to make changes, where available.

  • Order Notes: Allows shoppers to leave a note during checkout.

  • Low Stock Notifications: Sends email notifications when a product reaches its low-stock threshold. You can also send notifications to members of your team.

    • Low Stock Per Variant: Enable this setting to receive low-stock notifications for individual product variants.
  • Enable First Paid First Served: Prevents carted items from being reserved for a shopper. The first shopper to pay for an item receives it.

  • Same Product Description: Automatically selects Use for Online Store & App when you add a new product.

  • Gift Cards: Allows you to offer gift cards in your shop.

  • Sold Keyword: Select Edit to customize the keyword shoppers use to claim products during live sales and social posts. Avoid generic words such as LOVE or WANT, which shoppers may use unintentionally.

  • Highlight VIP Customers: Highlights qualifying VIP customers in your live sale overview. Set the VIP Dollar Amount to determine the minimum amount a customer must have spent in the last 30 days to receive a VIP label.

  • Live View Multiplier: Multiplies the viewer count displayed in your live sale overlay by the number you select. For example, if the multiplier is 5 and 50 viewers are watching, the overlay displays 250 Total Viewers.

    • The multiplier applies to the viewer count shown in the live sale overlay only.
    • It includes viewers from your social channels and mobile app.
    • It does not change the viewer count displayed on Facebook.
    • It does not change the actual number of viewers watching your live sale.
    • Select 1 to display the actual viewer count.
  • Secondary Offer: Allows you to offer additional products to shoppers during checkout.

  • Automatic Product Videos from Live Sales: Automatically creates product videos from snippets of products featured during your live sales. The videos are added to the product's media on your webstore and mobile app.

  • Autopost Live Replays to Your Webstore: Automatically publishes a replay of a completed live sale to your webstore so shoppers can watch and shop the replay after the live sale ends.

Configure Your Shopper Account Page


The Account Page section lets you control which features shoppers can access from their account page, including product lists, comment charge, and phone-number requirements.

Select the Enable/Disable toggle where necessary or select Edit to the right of items to make changes, where available.

  • Product List: Allows shoppers to view and purchase products from their account page.

  • Hide Sold Out Products: Hides sold-out products from the product list on the shopper's account page.

  • Comment Charge: Allows shoppers to opt in to comment charge from their account page. When enabled, customers can be automatically charged for purchases when they comment SOLD or your custom Sold keyword. 

    • Important: Comment Charge currently works only with Stripe as the payment gateway.

  • Require Phone Number: Requires shoppers to have a phone number on their account before they can check out. 

    • Note: This setting is currently available only in the webstore and shopper account page.

Configure Shopping Carts


The Shopping Cart section lets you configure cart expiration, quantity changes, cart removal, waitlist authorization, checkout reminders, and other shopping cart behavior.

Select the Enable/Disable toggle where necessary or select Edit to the right of items to make changes, where available.

  • Shopping Cart Expiration: Controls when items are removed from shoppers' carts. You can configure carts to expire after a specified amount of time or according to a weekly schedule. You can also choose whether existing carted items are affected when you change the expiration setting.

  • One-time Special Cart Expiration: Lets you expire all shopping carts at a specific date and time. After the specified date and time, your normal Expiration Preference is restored.

  • Nighttime Expire: Controls whether carts expire between 11 P.M. and 7 A.M. Central Time. When disabled, carts that would expire during this period automatically expire at 7 A.M. Central Time.

  • Update Quantity: Allows shoppers to increase or decrease the quantity of an item in their cart, regardless of the quantity they originally claimed.

  • Waitlist Variant Limit: Sets the maximum number of a product variant, such as a specific size and color combination, that a shopper can add to their waitlist. Enter 0 to prevent shoppers from adding items to their waitlists.

  • Allow Cart Removal: Controls whether shoppers can remove items from their carts in the Account Page, Online Store, and Mobile App. If disabled for a location, shoppers must contact you to have an item removed.

  • Waitlist Authorization: Appears when Stripe is configured as your payment gateway. When an item is authorized, an order is automatically created when the item returns to inventory.

  • Allow Store Credit on Waitlist Authorizations: Allows shoppers to use account credit toward waitlist authorization orders.

  • Waitlist Preauth Expiration: Sets how many days a waitlisted item remains preauthorized for purchase. After the specified period, the item remains on the customer's waitlist when it returns to inventory, but an order is not automatically created.

  • Use separate expiration timer for items added to cart from waitlist: Gives shoppers additional time to receive checkout reminders and purchase an item activated from a waitlist.

    • Expire Shopping Cart Waitlist After: Sets how long an item remains in the cart after being added from a waitlist activation. The value must be entered in 5-minute increments.
  • Send Reminder Email (to Checkout): Sends checkout reminder emails to shoppers according to the frequency you specify.

  • Show Warning for Repeat Purchases: Alerts shoppers when they have previously purchased an item in their current cart.

  • Prioritize Custom Badges Over Other Labels: Displays a product's custom badge instead of standard badges such as Waitlist, Best Seller, or Low Stock.
