Create a Navigation Menu for Your Website

Want to make it easy for your shoppers and website visitors to browse your products and collections? Read on to learn to design an effective navigation menu.

Your navigation menu plays a crucial role in a positive shopper experience as it helps shoppers find links to a retailer's most important pages and product collections on their webstore. 

With Site Creator, you have complete control over the design of your navigation menu. You can choose the order of pages and collections and can even nest pages and collections to create a more streamlined navigation experience.

Add Pages and Links

1. Hover over the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard, then select Site Creator.
2. Select Navigation from the options listed at the top of the page.
3. Enter the following information under the Add Link section in the side menu of your Site Creator:
   • Title. Enter the name of the link.
   • Choose your link option:
     • Page. Use the drop-down list to select an existing page or collection. You can also create a new collection by selecting + Create New Collection.
     • External Link. Enter the URL for the external link.
   • Add Link to. Use the drop-down to select the navigation menu where you wish to add the link.
   • Publish to. Select where you wish to publish this navigation link. Options include Web, App, or All (website and mobile app).
4. Once done, select Add.
5. Your site preview will update to reflect the changes to your navigation. Select Publish in the top-right corner of the Site Creator to save your navigation.

Edit a Navigation Item

Once you have added a page or a link to the navigation, you can easily access it to make changes.

1. Scroll to the Main Navigation section in the side menu of your Site Creator and locate the navigation item you wish to edit.
2. Select the three-dot icon to the far right of the item.
3. Select Edit from the options listed.
4. Make your edits:
   • Title. Edit the name of the link.
   • Choose your link option:
     • Page. Use the drop-down list to select an existing page or collection. You can also create a new collection by selecting + Create New Collection.
     • External Link. Enter the URL for the external link.
   • Add Link to. Use the drop-down to select the navigation menu where you wish to add the link.
   • Highlight Navigation. Enable this toggle if you wish to highlight this item in your navigation menu during promotions.
   • Publish to. Select where you wish to publish this navigation link. Options include Web, App, or All (website and mobile app).
5. Once done, select Update.
6. Your site preview will update to reflect the changes to your navigation. Select Publish in the top-right corner of the Site Creator to save your navigation.
