Want to incentive shopper purchases by offering a free gift with purchase? Read on to learn how to set it up!
"Gift with Purchase" is a popular marketing and promotional tactic that awards shoppers a free gift if their order meets certain criteria (e.g., meets a certain dollar amount, includes a specific product, etc.). It's a great way to incentivize shoppers to make a purchase, spend more, and/or purchase a specific product.
With CommentSold, retailers can create a Gift with Purchase product that CommentSold will automatically add to a shopper's cart when the shopper makes their first qualifying purchase.
- Retailers can only have one Gift with Purchase product enabled at a time.
- Shoppers qualify for a gift when they meet a specific subtotal threshold (e.g., Free gift if you spend $50!). This is their total before taxes, shipping, etc.
- Gift cards do not count toward a Gift with Purchase subtotal.
- Shoppers can use a discount/coupon on an order and still receive a Gift with Purchase if the order met the subtotal minimum before the shopper applied the discount.
- Once a shopper receives a specific Gift with Purchase product (i.e., a candle), they cannot qualify for it on subsequent orders. If you enable a new Gift with Purchase product (i.e., hand cream), a shopper can receive the new gift on their first qualifying purchase.
- Shoppers cannot remove the Gift with Purchase product from their shopping cart.
- Gift with Purchase products are not reserved—they should be considered "first come, first served" for those shoppers who place qualifying orders.
