Auto-combining orders lets you streamline your shipping and fulfillment process by combining multiple orders from the same customer and address into a single package. Save time, reduce costs, and deliver a more efficient shopping experience!

Before you get started:

Step 1: Enable Combine Orders

For auto-combining orders to work, you must first enable Combine Orders on your Fulfilment Settings.

  1. Hover over the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard, then select Setup.
  2. Select Fulfillment from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Locate Combine Orders and then enable the toggle.
  4. Enter a number for Max Items to Combine Per Order.
    • You might want to set a limit on combined items per order to manage shipping costs and packaging efficiency. For example, if shipping more than five items significantly increases shipping label costs, you can set the limit to five or fewer. This helps control expenses and ensures packages are a convenient size for handling and delivery.
  5. Select Save.
Note: If the number of items exceeds the Max Items to Combine Per Order, remaining items will be batched in an additional order.

How Does It Work?

Once enabled, orders with the same shipping address will combine at the shipping level. The orders will still appear individually on your Orders page, but will show as combined on the packing slip, during shipping label creation, and on the final shipping label.

Orders won’t combine?

Here are some things to check;

  • Double check that the Combine Labels feature is enabled under Setup > Fulfillment.
  • Confirm the shipping addresses on the orders match exactly.
  • If you’re using our FlexLabels option, orders must be processed simultaneously to be combined.
  • If you use the multiple warehouse locations feature;
    • Ensure the items in the orders are in the same warehouse.
    • Ensure the order was placed after the multiple warehouse feature was enabled. (You can check this in the Shop Logs tab.) Orders placed before the feature was enabled will not combine with orders placed after the feature was enabled.
    • Ensure all of the items in both orders were assigned to a warehouse before the order was placed. (You can check this in the Shop Logs tab.) Orders placed before the items were assigned to a warehouse will not combine with orders placed after the items were assigned.
