Our goal at CommentSold is to simplify the checkout process by leveraging proven and optimally organized set-up payment options. With unified checkout interface and expanding payment options, we ensure that both you and your customers benefit from a more intuitive and versatile system.

Payment Gateway Options

If you're using Stripe or CSPay, you now have access to a wider range of payment methods. This change offers your customers the flexibility to choose their preferred way to pay, resulting in a smoother checkout experience.

Payment Options Include:

  • Apple Pay
  • Google pay
  • Card Payments
  • Klarna
  • PayPal
  • Sezzle
  • Link

Note: You do not incur any additional fees for orders processed using Google Pay. The fees applied will match the credit card processing rates associated with your selected payment processor:

  • CS Payments: Google Pay transactions follow the same rates as your shop’s CS Payments credit card transactions.
  • Stripe: Google Pay transactions follow the same rates as your Stripe credit card transactions.

You can verify your specific rate in your payment provider's dashboard or under Setup > Payment Gateways if using CommentSold Payments.

In short, Google Pay is treated like a standard credit card purchase—there are no extra fees, just your existing processor’s rates.

You can now view the payment method used for each order directly within the order list.

Unified Checkout UI

Previously, if you weren't using Stripe or CSPay, your customers encountered a different checkout screen. We have streamlined the experience to ensure that all shops, regardless of their chosen payment gateway, display the same, seamless checkout screen.

New UI

What’s Improved:

  • Consistent UI Across All Shops: No more differences in checkout screens based on your payment gateway usage.
  • Enhanced Clarity: This improved interface creates a smoother purchase process, resulting in higher conversion.

Express Checkout (Buy Now Button)

The Buy Now button offers shoppers a faster, single-step checkout experience directly from your product detail page (PDP). When enabled, customers can instantly begin checkout, without needing to add items to their cart first.

When the Buy Now button appears

Shoppers will see the Buy Now button only when all of the following conditions are true:

  • The shopper is logged into their account
  • The product detail page (PDP) is being viewed from a live stream
  • The shopper has no existing items in their cart
  • The API returns buy_now_eligible = true for the shopper

How Express Checkout works

When a shopper selects Buy Now:

  • Their most recently used shipping address will auto-apply
  • Seel/Redo protection will apply automatically based on your app setup and the shopper’s last election
  • Checkout will open in a full-screen checkout webview

If the shopper has account credit available, they can enable it using the checkbox during checkout. Note: this option is not selected by default.

Here are some expected behaviors you should be aware of:

  • Will not show for guest checkout
  • Will not show if the customer has no previous order history
  • Will not show if the customer's cart contains more than one item
  • Will only work for shops that have PayPal connected

Availability

  • Only available during Live Sales
  • Will not show for Guest Checkout
  • User must be logged in
  • User must have previous order history
  • User must not have more than one item in their cart
  • Shop must have PayPal connected

Supported Payment Methods

  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay

Managing Payment Gateways

If you're using Stripe or CSPay, you'll now see a new subtab titled Stripe under Setup > Payment Gateways. You can see details related to your Stripe account such as Professional, Public, Personal, Linked accounts, and Payout. You can edit these details by selecting Edit at the right corner of each block.

The appearance and availability of payment methods at checkout may vary based on the user, their device settings, and saved information across accounts.
