Easily update an order’s fulfillment method from shipping to local pickup when a customer decides to collect their purchase in person. This ensures accurate processing and avoids unnecessary shipping charges.
If your customer has paid for shipping, you can refund those fees to the customer before switching the order to local pickup.
Refund Shipping Fee to the Customer
- In the Return - Products In The Order section, you have two options again:
- Select Refund Order at the bottom to process a refund of all products included in the order.
- Locate the product a customer wishes to return and select Refund Product.
- On the pop-up, confirm the following fields:
- Issue Partial Refund. Enable this toggle to issue partial refund.
- Refund To. Select Account Credit.
- To Account Credit. Enter the amount as Zero (0).
- Refund Shipping. Enable this toggle to refund shipping amount. This will show you the available funds to refund.
- To Account Credit. Enter the amount you wish to refund as an account credit.
- Retract Loyalty. Enable this toggle if you have an active loyalty program and the customer earned loyalty credits for this purchase. This will automatically display the amount that will be retracted from their discount credits once the refund is processed.
- Refund Notes. Include any notes for the processed refund.
- Send refund email to customer. Select this checkbox if you wish to send an email to the customer notifying them that you've processed their refund.
- Include existing return notes in refund email. Select this checkbox if you wish to include the existing return notes you added when processing the return in the email.
- Include refund notes in refund email. Select this checkbox if you wish to include any notes to the customer about the refunded amount.
- Select Calculate Refund. You will now see a detailed refund amount.
- Select Confirm Refund to confirm and process the refund.
Change Delivery Method to Local Pickup
- Hover over the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard, then select Orders/Fulfillment.
- Hover over the desired order and select the eye icon in the right corner.
- Select the blue Switch to Local Pickup button.
