Why Create a Coupon Code?
Coupon codes can help you:
- Re-engage inactive shoppers with discounts on new products.
- Create promotions that are available only on specific sales channels.
- Discount specific products, collections, or live sale products.
- Offer free shipping when customers meet specific requirements.
How Free Shipping Coupons Work
If a customer adds a product with a free shipping offer to their cart, the entire order receives free shipping.
Free shipping coupons cannot be combined with other coupon offers. For example, if a customer has both a free shipping coupon and a 10% off coupon, they must choose either free shipping or the 10% discount.
Create a Coupon Code
- Select Coupons in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Select Add Coupon in the top-right corner of the page.
Configure a New Coupon
You'll need to enter the key characteristics of the coupon code so CommentSold can apply the correct discount to the correct set of purchasing conditions. We walk through each field below.

- Off Each Qualifying Item – Applies the discount to every qualifying item in the order.
-

- Current Price – Uses the product's current selling price.

AND/OR Selection LogicThe AND/OR selection logic only appears when two or more inclusion groups contain at least one included item. The available inclusion groups are:
Since the AND/OR setting controls how different inclusion groups work together (for example, Product AND Collection or Product OR Collection), it is only displayed when at least two groups are being used. For example:
Excluded items do not affect the AND/OR setting. Exclusions always apply regardless of the selected logic, and adding multiple items within the same group does not display the AND/OR option. You must include items from two different inclusion groups for the setting to appear. |
Unlimited Usage. Enable this option to allow unlimited redemptions. Disable it to set a maximum number of times the coupon can be redeemed across all customers.
Start and End Date. Set the date and time when the coupon becomes active and when it expires. If left blank, the coupon is available immediately and remains active indefinitely. Dates and times use your shop's configured time zone. Coupons scheduled for a future start date will appear as Inactive until they become active.

First Purchase Only. Limit the coupon to customers placing their first order through any sales channel.
