To order a Dropship product sample, open Dropship Catalog in your CommentSold dashboard, select a product, choose the sample variants you want, add them to your cart, and complete checkout with your shipping and payment information. Samples are purchased at 70% of the product’s MSRP, plus $5 shipping per supplier.
You can purchase samples for the products you wish to feature and sell in your live sales and shoppable social posts. If you do not wish to purchase product samples, you can still proceed with adding the product to your inventory. Learn more here.
When you order a dropship product sample, CommentSold will copy the product details, images, and information into a new product record on your Products page. As long as the supplier has available stock, you’ll be able to sell without inventory limitations.
Once you receive your sample(s), you can publish these products to your mobile app and website, and share them on your social accounts. You can also feature dropship products in your live and short-form content.

Order a Product Sample
You can order samples for products you wish to feature in your live sales and social posts. At this time, you will need to pay for these samples.
- Select Dropship Catalog in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Hover over a product you wish to sell and select View.
- In the Order a Product Sample section, select Select Your Samples.
- If the product has variants available (e.g., size and color), retailers will need to add the specific variants they wish to receive to their cart.
- You can request multiple variants in your sample. Select Add Another Sample to do so.
- Select Add Samples to My Cart
- To remove a sample, select the X to the far right of the sample box.
- A summary of your shopping cart will appear on the right side of the page. Close out of the summary to continue adding samples, or select Complete Order to submit your sample request.
- To remove a sample from your shopping cart, select the trashcan icon on the far right of the sample product row.
- Confirm your contact information and select Continue to Shipping.
- Review and confirm your shipping details and select Continue to Payment.
- Select your desired payment method, then select Pay Now.
Once you submit a product sample request, CommentSold adds the products included in the request to your inventory.
Please note that some brand partners will require you purchase a minimum number of samples if ordering from them. You'll see a notification of this requirement in your shopping cart.
Sample Ordering - What You Should Know
- Only one sample per variant can be ordered at a time.
- The price of samples is the unit cost of a product.
- While few suppliers may accept sample returns, samples that are consumable and have been tested/opened will not be able to be returned.
- If the incorrect sample is received, please contact CommentSold Support and we will work with the supplier to either refund the purchase or get the correct item sent out.
- Samples can be re-ordered from the Dropship Catalog.
- Samples do not automatically get sent to your shop address. You'll need to enter a shipping address at checkout.
- Some suppliers have a minimum purchase quantity for samples.

A Dropship product sample costs 70% of the product's MSRP.
How much does shipping cost for Dropship samples?
Shipping costs $5 per supplier included in your sample order. If you order multiple products from the same supplier, you only pay the $5 shipping charge once for that supplier.
Can I order multiple variants of a Dropship product?
Yes. If a product has multiple variants, such as size or color, you can select the specific variants you want to receive. Select Add Another Sample to request additional variants.
Can I order more than one sample of the same variant?
No. You can order only one sample per variant at a time.
Do Dropship samples automatically get added to my inventory?
Yes. When you submit a sample order, CommentSold adds the products included in the request to your inventory.
Do Dropship products automatically publish to my website or mobile app?
No. Ordering a sample adds the product to your inventory, but the product remains unpublished until you choose to publish it to your website, mobile app, or other channels.
Where do I enter my shipping address for a Dropship sample?
Dropship samples are not automatically shipped to your shop address. You must enter the shipping address you want to use during checkout.
Are there minimum sample requirements?
Some suppliers require you to purchase a minimum number of samples. If a minimum applies, CommentSold displays a notification in your shopping cart.
Can I reorder a Dropship product sample?
Yes. Samples can be reordered directly from the Dropship Catalog.
What happens if I receive the wrong Dropship sample?
Contact CommentSold Support if you receive an incorrect sample. CommentSold will work with the supplier to either refund the purchase or send the correct item.
Can Dropship samples be returned?
Some suppliers may accept sample returns. However, consumable samples that have been tested or opened cannot be returned.
How are Dropship products handled with First Paid, First Served?
Dropship products are treated as First Paid, First Served regardless of your shop's First Paid, First Served setting. The customer who pays first secures the product.
How can I identify Dropship products in my Products tab?
CommentSold Dropship products display a green Dropship tag beneath the product SKU in your Products tab.
