How Seel Returns Work

Use the table of contents below to navigate to specific sections of this article:

Returns handled through Seel depend on whether the shopper purchased return coverage at checkout. This article explains how Seel returns work and what to expect in different return scenarios.

How Seel Returns Work

Seel supports two return scenarios:

  • Worry-Free Purchase with Free Return Coverage
  • No Coverage with Seel Return Management

The return process and associated costs vary based on the shopper’s selection at checkout.

Scenario 1: Worry-Free Purchase (WFP) with Free Return Coverage

When a shopper purchases Worry-Free Purchase (WFP) at checkout, their order includes free return coverage.

How it works:

  • The shopper purchases WFP during checkout (includes free returns).
  • You collect the Seel protection fee with the order.
  • Seel charges you the protection fee amount through CommentSold.
  • The shopper receives a free return label when filing a claim.

This option provides a seamless return experience for shoppers, as they are not charged for return shipping.

Scenario 2: No Coverage, Merchant Uses Seel Return Management

If the shopper does not opt in to return coverage, you can still manage returns using Seel’s Return Management services.

How it works:

  • The shopper submits a return request.
  • You generate a return label using Seel’s label service.
  • Seel bills you directly for the return label cost as a separate transaction.

This option allows you to handle returns using Seel’s services even when shoppers do not purchase coverage at checkout.
