Seel Resale

Learn how to enable Seel Resale, understand shopper eligibility, configure AI Resale in CommentSold, and manage the resale experience for Worry-Free Purchase orders.

Seel Resale gives shoppers a simple way to sell eligible items for cash after their return and claim windows have closed. Instead of keeping products they no longer want, shoppers can list them for resale directly from Seel's Resolution Center.

This benefit is available to shoppers who purchased Worry-Free Purchase (WFP) coverage and helps extend the post-purchase experience while keeping returned inventory in circulation.

Before You Begin

Before you can offer Seel Resale to your shoppers:

  • You must have at least one Seel protection product enabled, such as:
    • Worry-Free Delivery (WFD)
    • Buy Again Resolution (BAR)
    • Worry-Free Purchase (WFP)
  • AI Resale is only available for shops using Seel.
Important: Seel Worry-Free Purchase quotes will adjust by 0.5%. For example, if the fee was previously 2.0%, it will now be 2.5%.

Enable Seel Resale

  1. Select Setup from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select More Integrations from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Select Seel from the sub-options listed at the top of the page.
  4. Enable Seel AI Resale.

Once enabled:

  • Eligible shoppers will automatically see the Resale option in Seel's Resolution Center.
  • No additional integrations or setup are required.
  • If all Seel protection products are disabled, AI Resale is automatically disabled.

Shopper Experience

When a shopper purchases Worry-Free Purchase and becomes eligible for resale, they can sell their unwanted item directly from Seel's Resolution Center.

Here’s how it works:

Resale Eligibility

Only after the item's return and/or claim windows have closed will the shopper see a Sell for Cash option on their eligible order.

Photo Submission

Seel may reject items with photos that are blurry or do not show the correct item.

Photos can only be submitted from the mobile experience. Accessing the Seel portal from the web will not allow image upload.

Price Determinations

Seel uses AI and marketplace data to determine a fair resale price based on:

  • Comparable market listings
  • Item condition
  • Current resale demand

Shoppers do not need to research or set their own pricing.

Transactions

  • Seel automatically creates and manages listings across supported resale marketplaces on behalf of the shopper.
  • No action is required from either the shopper or the shop.
  • When a buyer purchases the item through one of Seel's marketplace partners, Seel manages the transaction.

Shopper Payouts

After the buyer confirms the purchase, Seel sends payment directly to the shopper using their selected payout method, such as:

  • Direct Deposit
  • PayPal
  • Venmo

Eligible Items

An item can be listed for resale when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The order includes Worry-Free Purchase® coverage.
  • All return and claim windows have closed.
  • There are no open claims or existing resale requests.
  • The item's value is between $15 and $500.
  • The item passes Seel's eligibility checks.

Before publishing a listing, Seel verifies that:

  • The uploaded photo matches the item.
  • The item has no significant damage or missing parts.
  • Photos are clear, well-lit, and free of watermarks or screenshots.
  • The item is not counterfeit.
  • The item is not included on Seel's prohibited items list.

Viewing Resale Coverage

When AI Resale is enabled:

  • Merchants can view resale coverage details within Seel's Merchant Dashboard on the policy details page.
  • Shoppers can see resale coverage information within Seel's Resolution Center.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once AI Resale is enabled in Setup > More Integrations > Seel, eligible shoppers automatically gain access to the feature in Seel's Resolution Center.

When can shoppers list an item for resale?

Items become eligible after all return and claim windows have closed. Once eligible, there is currently no expiration date for listing the item.

No. Seel automatically determines pricing using AI based on comparable sales and the item's condition.

When does the shopper receive payment?

Payment is issued after the marketplace buyer confirms the purchase. Funds are sent using the shopper's selected payout method, such as Direct Deposit, PayPal, or Venmo.

What happens if an item doesn't sell?

The listing remains active until it sells. Seel is continually improving listing optimization to help increase successful sales.
