Your Privacy Policy is an essential part of maintaining transparency and trust with your customers.
As of February 2025, CommentSold has removed the default CommentSold Privacy Policy from the footer of your shop page and introduced a customizable Privacy Policy page within Site Creator. This new page now controls the privacy policy displayed on your website.
What This Means for You
All shops now use the new Privacy Policy page in Site Creator. Depending on your previous setup, here’s what you should do:
If You Previously Had a Custom Privacy Policy
If you were using a custom privacy policy (outside of the old CommentSold footer policy), you should:
Review your current Privacy Policy page in Site Creator.
Update or replace the content to ensure it reflects your existing policy.
| Note: If you did not transfer your custom policy before the February 2025 update, your site may currently display the default generic privacy policy. |
If You Did Not Have a Custom Privacy Policy
No action is required.
A generic, customizable privacy policy is now available on your Privacy Policy page. However, we recommend:
Reviewing the policy to ensure it aligns with your business practices.
Consulting a legal or privacy expert if needed.

Have an Existing Custom Privacy Policy (not the CommentSold Privacy Policy in the footer)?
If you already have a custom privacy policy, copy your custom privacy policy before getting started with the following.
- Hover over the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard, then select Site Creator.
- Select Pages from the options listed at the top of the page.
- Select and expand Store Pages.
- Select the Privacy Policy page.
- If you see a Content Section widget already added, skip step 5 and 6.
- Select the blue Add Section button.
- Select your preferred widget for your page. While we recommend using the Content Section widget for its versatility and ease of use, feel free to select the one that best fits your needs.
- Select the Edit icon at the right corner of the widget.
- Paste the copied custom privacy policy in the content box and make the desired updates to the format.
- Select Save.
No Custom Privacy Policy?
If you do not have a custom privacy policy, you don't have to do anything. If you wish to review the changes or edit the new privacy policy, follow these steps:
- Hover over the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard, then select Site Creator.
- Select Pages from the options listed at the top of the page.
- Select and expand Store Pages.
- Select the Privacy Policy page.
- Select the Edit icon at the right corner of the Content Section widget.
This Privacy Policy will be published on approximately February 11, 2025.
