Product videos give shops the opportunity to add fit and styling videos to a product's record, allowing shoppers to watch the video when viewing the product on the shop's webstore and/or mobile app.
With CommentSold's Automatic Product Video setting, when a shop features an item during a live sale, CommentSold will automatically grab a video snippet of that feature and add it to the product record.
Automatic product videos start the moment a shop scans a product or selects it from the product selection so shops should wait until after they've scanned or selected the product to discuss or demo the product. At this time, shops cannot crop or edit automatic product videos.
Below are additional things to know about automatic product videos:
- Any product video that a shop manually adds will take precedent over an automatic product video. You can manually upload a product video by posting the video to Facebook or Instagram with autolinking.
- If a shop features a product in more than one live sale, CommentSold will pull a video snippet from the oldest live sale.
- If a shop features a product multiple times during a single live sale, then CommentSold will use the longest segment for the product video.
How Automatic Product Videos Benefit Your Shop
- Save time on content creation by automatically capturing and publishing product videos.
- Simultaneously publish product videos to your webstore and mobile app.
- Using live sale snippets gives videos an interactive feel and is a great opportunity for you to point out important features of a product.
Enable Automatic Product Videos
- Select Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Select Shop from the menu at the top of the page.
- In the Selling Preferences section on the right side of the page, locate Automatic Product Videos from Live Sales.
- Select the toggle so it appears as Enabled.
Exclude a Product from Automatic Product Videos
If you have one or more products that you prefer not to have an automatic product video, you can disable this setting for the product on the product record.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate and select your desired product.
- Scroll down to the Additional Setting and Options section at the bottom of the page.
- Expand Display Settings drop-down.
- Select the checkbox to Disable Live Sale Videos.
- Select Save in the top-right corner of the page.
Delete or Override an Existing Product Video
You have two options when removing an existing product video: you can delete the video or you can override the video by manually uploading a new video.
If you choose to delete a video, it will also remove the product from the live sale CommentSold pulled it from.
Alternatively, you can overwrite a video by posting a product video on Facebook. If you have autolinking enabled, then CommentSold will give this video precedence over any auto-generated snippet.
The below steps cover deleting a video. Learn more about posting and autolinking product videos to Facebook here.

What Your Shoppers Experience
If a product has a video available, then a play button icon will appear in the bottom-left corner of the product thumbnail on both your webstore and mobile app. When the shopper selects the product, they can access the video and choose to play or pause it.
