Create and Manage Customer Tags

Customer tags let you organize and segment your customer base in CommentSold. These tags can be synced into Klaviyo for advanced segmentation, applied to customer-specific coupons, and used for targeted notifications.

Klaviyo Sync

Tags automatically sync and can be used to create segments. Within Klaviyo, multiple tags for a single customer will appear as a comma-separated list, so you can filter or segment based on one or more tags.

Importing Customer Tags with a CSV


You can bulk-assign customer tags by uploading a CSV file.

Required Columns & Column Titles

Your CSV must include:

  • Customer ID (required)
    • This is the number listed to the left of the Customer name in the Customer tab.
  • Customer Name (optional)
  • Custom Tags (Add multiple tags per entry if required, separated by commas)

Tagging Customers from Insights Reports


(Optional but Recommended)

Insights reports are a quick way to identify groups of customers and apply tags in bulk.

 

  1. Select Insights from the side menu of your Commentsold dashboard.
  2. Select Marketing from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Download the report you want (e.g., Winback Targets, Retarget Passive Mobile App Viewers).
  4. Open the report CSV.
  5. Adjust the column headers so they include:
    • Customer ID
    • Custom Tags
  6. Add your chosen tag in the Custom Tags column for each customer.
  7. Upload the CSV to CommentSold to apply tags using the Import Customer Tags via CSV button under Customers tab from the side menu of your Commentsold dashboard.
