CommentSold gives you multiple ways to sell your products, and each sales channel has its own unique behavior. The four primary sales channels are:

  • Shop URL
  • Social Media
  • Webstore
  • Mobile App

This article will help you understand how each channel works, how to add or remove products, and how to identify where a customer has carted an item from.

Shop URL


What is it?
The Shop URL is your customer’s checkout and account page. The items that appear under the customer’s account details are called the Product List.

How does it work?
There are two ways to add items to the Product List:

  • Post the item to social media. Products appear in the order they are posted (newest at the top).
  • Manually add items. Use the bulk actions in the Products tab to add items.

Visibility Note: If you have the Webstore Visible on Home Page setting enabled, the Shop URL checkout page is only accessible by signing into the Webstore and clicking the account icon in the top-right corner.

How do I know an item was carted from this channel?
Look for Product List in the customer’s cart, order details, or inventory log.

Want to turn this off?
You can hide the Product List from customer accounts. Go to Setup > Shop > Account Page and toggle off the Product List setting.

Social Media


What is it?
Any supported and linked social media platform where you post products.

How does it work?
Products can be connected to social posts through:

  • Live Sales
  • Autolinking
  • CommentChat

How do I know an item was carted from this channel?
In the customer’s cart, order details, or inventory log, you’ll see Social listed as the Source.

Webstore


What is it?
An optional, shoppable website where customers can browse, cart, and checkout items.

How does it work?
When your webstore is enabled, you can publish products directly to the site for customers to shop.

How do I know an item was carted from this channel?
In the customer’s cart, order details, or inventory log, you’ll see Webstore or Online Store listed as the Source.

Mobile App


What is it?
A custom shoppable mobile app built for your shop.

How does it work?
Once your app is live, you can post products to it using the bulk options in the Products tab.

How do I know an item was carted from this channel?
In the customer’s cart, order details, or inventory log, you’ll see Mobile App listed as the Source.
