Badges appear in the bottom-right corner of a product's tiled image on your mobile app and are an effective way to draw shoppers' attention to certain products.

By default, CommentSold displays the badges Waitlist and Low Stock on products that are out of stock or running low in stock. Additionally, retailers can enable the Best Seller badge on a product record so that Best Seller appears on the tiled image.

Retailers also have the option to create custom badges that match their brand's voice and personality (e.g., Fierce Fav, Must-Have, Last Chance). Custom badges can be up to 12 characters in length.

Prioritize Custom Badges Over Default Badges


CommentSold displays default badges such as Waitlist, Best Seller, and Low Stock on the product's tiled image on the mobile app. However, retailers can opt to have their custom badges take priority over these default badges.

By enabling the below setting, custom badges will appear even if a product is a waitlisted product, low on stock, or marked as a best seller on the product record.

  1. Select Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select Shop from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Scroll and locate the Prioritize Customer Badges Over Other Labels setting in the bottom-right corner of the page.
  4. Select the toggle so it appears Enabled.

Create a Custom Badge


Retailers can create a custom badge on the individual product record. 

  1. Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Locate the product to which you want to add a custom badge, and select the three-dot icon on the far right of the product row.
  3. Select Edit from the drop-down list.
  4. Locate the Badge field.
  5. Enter your custom badge in this field.
  6. Select Update in the top-right corner of the page.

Schedule Product Badge


You can schedule when a product badge appears on your products. This makes it perfect for timed promotions, product drops, or seasonal campaigns.

  1. Select Products from the side menu of your CommentSold Dashboard.
  2. Select the checkbox beside the product(s) you want to apply a badge to.
  3. Select the blue Selected Items drop-down.
  4. Select Schedule Product Badges.
    • Name: Enter a name for the schedule.
    • Select From Date: Badge will be added to Products on the selected date and time.
    • Select To Date: Badge will be removed from the Products on the selected date and time.
    • Badge Text: Enter the Badge text, for example, New Product, Winter.
    • Add Products to schedule:
      • Select +Add From Collection to add products from a collection.
      • Select +Add Products to select individual products.
    • Once done, select Create Schedule.

Once scheduled, the badge will automatically display on the selected products at the scheduled time and will be removed after the end date, if one is set.

Managing Scheduled Product Badges


  1. Select Products from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select Scheduling and Price Adjustments.
  3. Select the Scheduled Product Badges tab from the options listed at the top of the page.
    • Select the Three-dot icon for the following actions:
      • On products with Scheduled status: You can View or Cancel the scheduled collection.
      • On products with Completed status: You can View or Delete the scheduled collection.
    • Create New Scheduled Badge
      • Name: Enter a name for the schedule.
      • Select From Date: Badge will be added to Products on the selected date and time.
      • Select To Date: Badge will be removed from the Products on the selected date and time.
      • Badge Text: Enter the Badge text, for example, New Product, Winter.
      • Add Products to schedule:
        • Select +Add From Collection to add products from a collection.
        • Select +Add Products to select individual products.
      • Once done, select Create Schedule.

View Products with Custom Badges


Products with custom badges will display the badge text above the product image on your Products page. You can also apply a filter to the Products listing so it only shows products with a custom badge.

  1. Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select the Filters button at the top of the Products listing.
  3. Search and select the Has Custom Badge checkbox under the General search field.
  4. Select Apply Filters in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up.
  5. View Badge text above each image in the Product column.
