About Posting Products to Your Mobile App

Mobile apps are a powerful selling channel. In 2020, 49.2% of retail e-commerce sales were made on mobile devices. When shops post products to their app, they allow their shoppers the opportunity to easily browse posted products, select and add products to their cart, and check out.

When CommentSold builds your mobile app, you'll need at least nine in-stock products posted to your mobile app to receive mobile app store approval. Approval is the final step before shoppers can download your app. These products function as sample product images that a shopper will see when deciding whether to download your mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

How Posting Products to Your Mobile App Benefits Your Shop

  • Market products to your shoppers without competition from other retailers or social platform distractions.
  • Give your shoppers a convenient shopping experience on their mobile devices.
  • Provide a sample of products you offer to entice shoppers to download your mobile app.

Post Products Individually

  2. Locate the product you wish to post and select the three dots to the far right of the product row.
  3. Select Post to App. Enter the post details:

    • App Notification Title. Enter the title for your mobile app notification message. Your shop name appears by default unless you entered a preferred App Notification Title on the Edit Product page.
    • App Notification Body. Enter the mobile app notification message. There’s a new item in your feed! appears by default unless you entered a preferred App Notification Body message on the Edit Product page.
    • Send the Notification? Select this checkbox if you wish to send a mobile app notification.
    • Schedule Timing. Choose whether to post immediately or at a future time. Post times are based on the Shop Time Zone you select on the Shop tab of your Setup page.
    • Hide from your main feed. Select this checkbox if you wish to hide the product post from your mobile app’s main feed. The product will still appear in collections or when a shopper searches for it on your mobile app.

Automatically Post Products with Autolinking

You can automatically post an item to your mobile app when the product automatically posts to Facebook. You'll need to first enable the autolinking setting and your preferences in CommentSold.

  2. On the Facebook tab, locate Post to App on Autolink and select the toggle to appear Enabled.
  3. Enable Post to App on Autolink - Use Mobile App Description to use the mobile app description field information for the product’s description in the mobile app.
    • To use the mobile app description field, you’ll need to deselect the Use for Online Store & App checkbox on the product’s Edit Product page.
  4. Enable Send Notification on Autolink to send a mobile app notification when a product posts to your mobile app with autolinking to a Facebook post.
  5. Enter the Min Qty required in Stock to Send amount to only send mobile app notifications when a product has at least this quantity in stock, then select Update Notification Qty
