Enable Disco Aftersale Recommendations

Disco Aftersale Recommendations let approved CommentSold shops display personalized product offers from other brands after a shopper completes a purchase. Recommendations appear on the thank-you page and order history page and can generate payouts when shoppers engage with the offers and make qualifying purchases.

Use the table of contents below to navigate to specific sections of this article:

How Does Disco Aftersale Recommendations Work?

Disco connects your shop to a network of participating brands. After a shopper completes checkout, Disco can display relevant products or services from other participating brands.

Recommendations can appear on:

  • The thank-you page.
  • The order history page.
  • The webstore and supported mobile app experiences.

Your shop must be approved by Disco before recommendations are shown to shoppers.

Before You Start

Before enabling Disco, make sure you:

  • Select one primary category that best describes your shop.
  • Select at least one subcategory.
  • Have the information needed to complete Disco's publisher review.
  • Understand that Disco must approve your shop before recommendations become visible to shoppers.
  • Set up a dedicated payout account if you want to receive Disco earnings.

There is no CommentSold charge to enable the Disco integration. Earnings are generated based on qualifying shopper engagement and conversions.

Enable Disco

  1. Select Setup from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select More Integrations from the options listed at the top.
  3. Select Disco from the sub-options listed at the top.
  4. Drag your Orders Per Month bar to calculate your potential monthly and yearly payout.
  5. Select the Pick your categories drop-down.
    • Select a Primary Category that best describes your shop.
    • Select one or more Sub Categories.
  6. Select the Enable Disco drop-down.
    • Select Enable.

After saving your settings for the first time, your shop is submitted to the Disco for review.

Wait for Approval

After enabling Disco, your status will show as Pending. During this period:

  • Recommendations will not appear to shoppers.
  • Disco reviews your application.
  • Your status automatically updates once Disco approves your shop.

Once approved, recommendations begin appearing automatically on your thank-you and order history pages. No additional setup is required.

Publisher Statuses

Your shop may display one of the following statuses:

Status Description
Pending Your shop has been submitted and is awaiting approval.
Active Your shop has been approved and recommendations are displayed.
Active Your application was not approved. Recommendations will not appear.

Manage Your Settings

You can return to Setup > More Integrations at any time to:

  • Change your primary category.
  • Update your subcategories.
  • Disable Disco.

If you disable the integration, recommendations immediately stop appearing on your thank-you and order history page.

How Payments/Payouts Work

Payouts are distributed monthly and can be viewed in your Reporting tab under the Disco subtab.

Keep in mind:

  • You must set up your payout account to receive earnings.
  • A dedicated Stripe account is needed for these payouts. Even if you have an existing Stripe account or CommentSold Payments account, you will still need to complete this step.
  • Because payments are processed monthly, there is generally about a one-month delay between engagement and the corresponding payout.
  • Pending earnings can be tracked before the payout is issued.
  • Payouts are calculated based on clicks and conversions.

Set up Payouts

  1. Select Setup from the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select More Integrations from the options listed at the top.
  3. Select Disco from the sub-options listed at the top.
  4. Select the Connect Payouts drop-down.
  5. Select Set up Disco Payout.
  6. You'll be directed to a Stripe login page. Enter the Email associated with the Stripe account you wish to connect to CommentSold.
  7. Stripe may ask you to also enter your password and verify your account via text or email, depending on what authentication settings you have set up for your Stripe account.
  8. Select the Account you wish to connect to CommentSold, then select Connect.
  9. You will be directed back to CommentSold where your Stripe account should show as Connected.

Reporting

The Disco Reporting page lets you track the performance of the Disco recommendations and view your estimated earnings over a selected date range.

Access Disco Reports from Reports > Disco.

Note: Reporting is not real-time and may be delayed by 1–2 days. Payout amounts shown are estimates until they have been processed.

Use the following filters to customize the report:

  • Date – Select the start and to date for the reporting period.
  • Payout Status – Filter results by All, Pending, or Paid payouts.

Recommendations:

  • Appear on the thank-you and order history page.
  • Feature products from other Disco network brands.
  • Display on both your webstore and mobile app checkout once per session experience.

If Disco is temporarily unavailable, the thank-you and order history page still loads normally and shoppers can continue without interruption.
