About Payment Gateways

A payment gateway is a third-party transaction processing company that can process credit card payments made to a business.

With CommentSold, your shoppers pay for their orders via the payment gateways you choose to offer. You can connect multiple payment gateways to your CommentSold account. All shopper payments will be processed through the gateways you choose—CommentSold does not hold any of these funds.

How Payment Gateways Benefit Your Shop

  • Enable payment processing for your shop.
  • Offer shoppers multiple options for paying for their purchases.

Connect Stripe

Stripe is a popular and powerful online payment processor for internet-based businesses. You can create a Stripe account here.

With Stripe, you can:

  • Enable CommentSold features like Comment Charge and Waitlist Authorization.
  • Create a payment experience within your webstore and/or mobile app, meaning shoppers aren't redirected elsewhere to enter payment details.
  • Benefit from flat-rate, transparent pricing with no setup, cancellation, or monthly fees.
Note: You cannot have Stripe and Square enabled at the same time. You must choose one or the other to connect to your CommentSold Account.

  1. Select Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select Payment Gateways from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. Locate the Stripe section and select Connect with Stripe.

  5. Select the Account you wish to connect to CommentSold, then select Connect.
  6. You will be directed back to CommentSold where your Stripe account should show as Connected.

Connect Sezzle

Sezzle is a popular "buy now, pay later" option that allows your shoppers to purchase items today and make four interest-free payments over a six-week period.

Sezzle charges shops a percentage of the total order amount to keep the option interest-free to customers.

With Sezzle, you can:

  • Allow shoppers to split payments into four installments, which encourages them to place larger orders.
  • Increase revenue and overall customer retention. CommentSold data shows customers are 21% more likely to make repeat purchases from a shop using Sezzle versus other payment processors.
  • Receive a customer's total order amount, less the fee deducted by Sezzle, immediately.
