The Shipping Insights dashboard provides an overview of your shipping activity, including shipping label costs, label volume, shipping revenue, package details, and estimated savings from combined orders.
Use these insights to understand shipping spend, identify cost trends, evaluate postage options, and plan packaging supplies.

Shipping Insights Data Sets

| Processing (By Label) |
Displays a breakdown of shipping details by individual label. “Processing” labels are those shipping labels created in the last few days that do not have shipping zone confirmed. Once confirmed, the label will move to the “By Label” data set. |

| Combined Orders Monthly Summary |
Displays a breakdown of estimated combined orders data by month. This data includes the average price per label, the total labels saved that month, and estimated saved shipping costs. Data displays starting from January 2023. This table cannot be filtered. |

Access Your Shipping Insights Tab
- Hover over the side menu in your CommentSold dashboard, then select Insights.
- Select Shipping from the options listed at the top of the page.
At the top of this tab, you can set the Created Date time frame. This will filter all data sets to include shipping labels created during that time. Once you’ve selected a time frame, select the Update Arrow on the right side of the page.
View and Export Data
You have various options when it comes to viewing and exporting your data. Please note that available options will vary by data set.
Order Data by Column
You can sort any data set column by first hovering over the column header, then selecting the desired action. You can also readjust the width of your columns by hovering over and dragging the dividing line between the column headers.
Export Data
Select the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the data set to access your export option.
- Download data. Download a .CSV file of the data set to your device.
- Autosize all columns. Automatically resize all columns to fit the data contained displayed.
- Reset all column widths. If you have made adjustments to column widths, quickly reset to the default widths.
- View. Select Expand to launch an expanded display of the specific data set.
- Clear cache & refresh. Refresh the data set to bring in more updated data.

What is Shipping Insights?
Shipping Insights is a CommentSold dashboard that tracks shipping label costs, shipment volume, shipping revenue, package details, and estimated savings from combined orders.
What does the Created Date filter do?
The Created Date filter limits Shipping Insights data to shipping labels created during the selected date range.
Does Shipping Insights include carrier refunds and adjustments?
No. The totals and amounts shown in the Shipping Insights data sets do not account for refunds or adjustments made by carriers.
How is the average shipping label price calculated?
The Average Price per Shipping Label represents the average cost of shipping labels generated during the selected date range.
What does Shipping Revenue Collected show?
It shows the total amount collected from customers for shipping during the selected date range.
What is the By Shipping Zone report?
The By Shipping Zone report breaks down shipping label costs and volume based on the destination shipping zone.
What is the By Postage Class report?
The By Postage Class report breaks down shipping label costs and volume based on the postage class used.
What is the Processing (By Label) report?
It shows recently created shipping labels that do not yet have a confirmed shipping zone. Once confirmed, they move to the By Label data set.
Why don't I see the Returns (By Label) data set?
The Returns (By Label) data set only appears when the Returns Portal powered by Redo is enabled.
What are Saved Shipping Labels?
Saved Shipping Labels estimates how many shipping labels were not printed because orders were combined during the selected date range.
What is Saved Shipping Label Spend?
Saved Shipping Label Spend estimates the amount saved on shipping labels by combining orders.
How far back does Combined Orders Monthly Summary data go?
Combined Orders Monthly Summary data starts in January 2023 and cannot be filtered.
Can I export Shipping Insights data?
Yes. Select the three-dot menu on a data set and choose Download data to export the data as a CSV file.
Can I sort Shipping Insights data?
Yes. Hover over a column header to access the available sorting options. You can also resize columns by dragging the divider between column headers.
