Once you add a product to your CommentSold inventory, you may need to edit or make changes to the product information, media, or variants. Managing your inventory in such a way allows you to keep your inventory records accurate and up-to-date.
Some of the actions we review below require enablement to appear. If you do not see a field, contact our Support Team via the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of your CommentSold dashboard for assistance.
How Managing Products Benefits Your Business
- Control your inventory levels to meet customer demand and reduce inventory overspending costs.
- Post products to your webstore, mobile app, and social media to entice your shoppers to make a purchase.
- Update collections for easy product shopping by category on your webstore and mobile app.
Manage Products from Your Product Page
The Products page displays a list of all products and product selections you've added to CommentSold. From this page, you can complete actions for individual and multiple products and product selections.
Note that bulk actions will only apply to products selected on the current page. You can increase the number of products displayed per page using the Show Entries drop-down at the top of the listing.
Bulk Actions
Bulk actions allow you to make a change to more than one product at the same time.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Select the checkbox to the left of each product you wish to edit or select the master checkbox at the top of the page to select all products on the current page.
- At the top of the product listing, select the green Selected drop-down and select the action you wish to complete.
- Publish Products. Post selected products to your webstore. You can schedule a future date or post immediately.
- Unpublish Products. Remove selected products from your webstore.
- Add to Collection. Add selected products to a collection(s). Choose one or more collections to bulk-add selected products.
- Remove from Collection. Remove selected products from a collection(s). Choose one or more collections to bulk-remove selected products.
- Post to App. Post selected products to your mobile app.
- Remove from App. Remove selected products from your mobile app.
- Add to Product List. Add selected products to your product list. Your product list shows products available for purchase on a shopper’s account page.
- Remove from Product List. Remove selected products from your product list.
- Create Scheduled Sale. Create a scheduled sale featuring selected products.
- Create Product Selection. Create a product selection featuring selected products.
- Set Badge Text. Add or change product badges to multiple products at once.
- Clear Badge Text. Remove existing badge text from selected products.
- Update Brand. Add or change product brand to selected products.
- Print Live Helpers w/Location. Print Live Helpers that include product locations for selected products.
- Mark Received. Select the Received checkbox for multiple products at once. This will change partially received or unreceived products to fully received.
- Mark Not Received. Deselect the Received checkbox for multiple products at once. This will change partially received or received products to unreceived.
- Mark Best Seller. Add Best Seller status to selected products.
- Mark Not Best Seller. Remove Best Seller status from selected products.
- Mark Final Sale. Add Final Sale status to selected products. This status prevents customers from returning or exchanging a product.
- Mark Not Final Sale. Remove Final Sale status from selected products. Once the Final Sale status is removed, customers can return or exchange the product.
- Add Product Notes. Add product notes to selected products. Existing notes are displayed below Added notes.
- Export Product to CSV. Export selected products to a CSV file. Choose information used for cost and quantity in exported CSV file.
- Set Custom Shipping Price. Add a custom shipping price to selected products.
- Delete Products. Completely remove products and their records from your CommentSold account. This cannot be reversed and can negatively affect waitlists, order history, and reporting. Learn more about deleting products here.
Product Selection Actions
These actions only apply to products within a selected product selection.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the Product Selection you wish to edit and select the three dots to the far right of the product selection row.
- Select the action you wish to complete.
- Link to Post. Manually link a product selection to a social media post.
- Edit Selection. Manage a product selection and its products.
- Add Product Notes. Add notes to all products in a product selection.
- Add to Collections. Add all product selection products to a collection.
- Remove from Collections. Remove all product selection products from selected collections.
- Post to App. Post a product selection (and its products) to your mobile app.
- Publish to Webstore. Post a product selection (and its products) to your webstore.
- Create Scheduled Sale from Selection. Create a scheduled sale for all products in a product selection.
- Print Live Helpers. Print a live helper for each product selection product.
- Print Live Helpers with Locations. Print a live helper for each product selection product with the product's corresponding warehouse location.
- Download Sales Report. Run a sales report for the products included in the product selection.
- Remove. Completely delete a product selection and associated records. This will not delete the individual product records for the products included in the product selection.
Individual Product Actions
These actions will apply only to the specific product you've selected.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the product you wish to edit and select the three dots to the far right of the product row.
- Select the action you wish to complete.
- Edit. Edit product details on the product’s Edit Product page.
- Edit Media. Edit product images and videos on the product’s Edit Media page.
- Duplicate. Create a duplicate product using the product information and media from the selected product. Inventory amounts are not duplicated. Change the SKU and URL for the new product to avoid confusion.
- Inventory. Edit a product’s inventory information on the product’s Edit Inventory page.
- Post to Facebook. Post a product directly to your Facebook group/page from CommentSold.
- Post to Instagram. Post a product directly to your Instagram feed from CommentSold.
- Post to App. Post a product to your mobile app.
- Post to Webstore. Post a product to your webstore.
- Link to Post. Manually link a product to a social media post.
- Create Product Selection. Create a product selection including the selected product. Add additional products in the pop-up.
- Print Live Helper. Print a live helper for the product. Does not include product warehouse location.
- Download Image. Download a product’s main image.
- Copy Text. Copy a product’s description, size/color variants, price, shopper’s comment format, and SKU for easy post creation.
- Email Orders Update. Email all customers who ordered a product by size/color variant. Customize the subject line and email message.
- Remove. Completely delete a product and its records from your CommentSold inventory. This cannot be reversed and can negatively affect waitlists, order history, and reporting. Learn more about deleting products here.
Edit Product Details on the Product Record
Once you've created a product, you can edit additional information and perform product management actions from within the product's record.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the product you wish to edit and select the product’s SKU.
- After completing product edits, select Update Product in the top-right corner of the page to save your changes.
- Product URL. Add this link wherever you share or advertise products to direct shoppers to the product page in your webstore.
- Product Deep Link. Add this link wherever you share or advertise products to direct shoppers to the product page in your mobile app. Learn more about mobile deep linking here.
- Mark as Final Sale. Select this checkbox to mark the product as Final Sale. Shoppers are not able to return a final sale product until you've deselected this checkbox.
- Mark as Best Seller. Select this checkbox to label the product a Best Seller in your mobile app to highlight featured products.
Change Product Media on the Product Record
You can make changes to the images and/or videos for a product from the product's Edit Media tab on the product record.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the product you wish to edit and select the product’s SKU.
- Select Edit Media from the menu at the top of the page.
- Download. Select this icon to download the main image for the product. To download a different image, select the image then select the Download icon.
- Rotate. Rotate the image 45° to the left or right.
- Delete. Remove the image or video from CommentSold.
- Enable/Disable Store Image. Enabled by default. Select this icon to remove the image from your webstore.
- Enable/Disable Mobile App Image. Enabled by default. Select this icon to remove the image from your mobile app.
- +Upload Images. Select this button in the top-right corner of the page to add additional images to a product. Learn how to assign variant images here.
Edit Variant Information on the Product Record
You can edit product inventory by individual variant or all variants in bulk.
Individual Variant Actions
These actions will apply only to the variant you've selected.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the product you wish to edit and select the hyperlinked details in the Quantity column.
- Locate the product variant you wish to edit and select the three dots to the far right of the variant row.
- Choose the action you wish to complete.
- After you've made edits, select Update Variants at the top-right corner of the page to save your changes.
- Associated Orders. Open a new tab where you can view all orders for the selected variant on the Orders/Fulfillment page.
- Associated Waitlist. View customer waitlists that include the selected variant. Filter results by date range or pre-authorized waitlist shoppers.
- Associated Carts. View all active carts that contain the selected variant.
- Print Barcodes. Print barcodes for the selected variant. You can either print barcodes for the original inventory amount or on the shelf count amount. Use this option for initial barcoding during the intake process.
- Print Tag (PDF). Print a single barcode for the selected variant. Use this option for one-off products needing a barcode, such as returned products or a product with a missing tag.
- Inventory Logs. Open a new tab where you can view the variant’s movement and changes on the Inventory Logs page.
- Edit Variant. Edit the variant’s color or size.
- Delete Variant. Remove the variant and associated records completely from your CommentSold account. This cannot be reversed and can negatively affect waitlists, order history, and reporting.
- Archive/Dearchive Variant. Remove the variant from selling channels to prevent additional shoppers from joining the waitlist. You may also choose to clear waitlists for this variant at this time. Learn more about archiving variants here.
Bulk Variant Actions
Bulk actions allow you to make a change to more than one variant at the same time.
- Select Products in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
- Locate the product you wish to edit and select the hyperlinked details in the Quantity column.
- The top row in the variants listing contains actions that impact all variant rows at once.
- After you've made edits, select Update Variants at the top-right corner of the page to save your changes.
- Up/Down Color/Size arrows. Reorder all variant rows by alphabetical/numerical and descending/ascending order.
- Color +. Add an additional color variant for all sizes.
- Size +. Add an additional size variant for all colors.
- Add/Remove Stock +/-. Add or subtract inventory amounts for all variants.
- Variant Received. Select this checkbox to mark all variants as received/not received.
- Weight. Enter the same weight in ounces for all variants.
- Cost. Enter the same cost for all variants.
- Retail Price. Enter the same retail price for all variants.
- Sale Price. Enter the same sale price for all variants.
- Location. Enter the same location for all variants.
- All Associated Orders. Open a new tab where you can view all orders for the product on the Orders/Fulfillment page.
- All Associated Waitlist. View all customer waitlists for the selected product. See additional waitlist details, search by shopper name, and filter results by date range or only authorized waitlist shoppers.
- All Associated Carts. View all active carts that contain the product.
- Archive/Dearchive All Variants. Select to remove the product from selling channels to prevent additional shoppers from joining the waitlist. You may also choose to clear waitlists for the product at this time. Learn more about archiving products here.

Other Variant Actions
These actions allow you to organize the order of variants as well as add new variants for a product.
- Drag and Drop Reordering. Change the order of multiple product variants at one time by moving rows.
- Add Product Variant. Add another variant to a product. You can also add cost, retail price, and variant received status in the pop-up.
- Organize Variants. Individually manage variant order by selecting the up and down arrows next to each variant.
