Facebook is a social media network that connects people through an online platform. Businesses can create Facebook pages to interact with existing customers, target new customers, and build general brand awareness.

Connect Your Facebook Account


Before you can start selling on Facebook, you'll need to connect your Facebook account to CommentSold.

  1. Select Social Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select the Connect Facebook button.
  3. Enter your Facebook Email/Phone Number and Password in the popup, then select Log In.
    • If you are already logged into Facebook on your browser, you may connect automatically.

Once CommentSold and Facebook connect, you'll see your Facebook name appear above two new buttons: Re-Connect Facebook and Disconnect Facebook.

Connect Your Facebook Page


Once you've connected to Facebook, you can connect your Facebook business page. We strongly recommend you connect your Facebook business page as that's where you'll post products, videos, and live sales for your followers to shop.

You can only connect one Facebook business page to your shop. If you wish to change pages at a later date, please contact our Support team via the chat button in the lower-right corner of your CommentSold dashboard for assistance. 

  1. Select Social Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select the Facebook Pages tab from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. In the Pages section, locate the business page you wish to connect to and select Enable Page to the far right of the page row.

Settings for your Facebook page are located below the Pages section. These settings also appear on the Facebook Groups tab. Note that these settings are shared, so a change on the Facebook Pages tab will change the setting on the Facebook Groups tab.

We highlight the four key settings you should enable below.

  • Page is linked to group. If your Facebook business page is linked to your connected group(s) in Facebook, then you must enable this setting. If your Facebook business page is not linked to your connected group(s) in Facebook, then you must disable this setting. Auto-replies only work if you've connected your page and enabled group(s).   • Go live as Page instead of Profile. If your Facebook business page is linked to your connected group(s) in Facebook, enable this setting. Going live as your business page presents a professional front to your shop and simplifies the shopper registration process.
  • Autolink to post. Enable this setting if you wish to automatically connect a post on your Facebook page to a product in CommentSold. Posts must feature the #SKU of the product in order for CommentSold to connect the post. This also enables shoppers to purchase an item via a SOLD comment.
  • Autolink Posts to Product Selections. Enable this setting if you wish to automatically connect a post on your Facebook page to a product selection in CommentSold. Posts must feature the #ProductSelectionName in order for CommentSold to connect the post. We recommend you review the other settings for your Facebook page and group and decide which settings work best for your shop.

Connect Your Facebook Group


1: Connect Your Facebook Group 2: Add CommentSold to Your Facebook Group

You can connect as many Facebook groups as you would like.

If you do not see the Facebook group or groups you are trying to connect, ensure your connected Facebook account has admin privileges for that group(s).

  1. Select Social Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select the Facebook Groups tab from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. In the Groups section, locate the group(s) you wish to connect and select Enable Group to the far right of the group row.

Settings for your Facebook group(s) are located below the Groups section. These settings also appear on the Facebook Pages tab. Note that these settings are shared, so a change on the Facebook Groups tab will change the setting on the Facebook Pages tab.

Connect Facebook Messenger


  1. Select Social Setup in the side menu of your CommentSold dashboard.
  2. Select the Facebook Messenger tab from the options listed at the top of the page.
  3. In the Messenger section, locate the page you wish to connect and select Enable Page to the far right of the row.

There is only one setting you'll need to review for Facebook Messenger. The other settings are settings you should have already reviewed and enabled, as needed, when connecting your Facebook business page and group(s).

  • Automated Page Response. Enable this setting to send an automated response to those shoppers who message your shop via Facebook Messenger. For example, you might direct shoppers to your primary support email. Enter the message you wish to send in the field provided and select Update Template.
